Every setback leaves behind a path to make your comeback. Lots of artists have given up the stage because of several reasons, but what is best than a proper comeback? One of the most important steps when going back on stage after a long time aside is to make sure that if you are making the decision to do it again, make sure to make the best out of it. Here are a couple of artists that decided to make the big step this year.

Missy Elliot

As we mentioned in one of our previous articles, Missy Elliot is definitely one of the most surprising comebacks of the year. So, get ur freak on and listen to the reinvented, but pleasantly familiar queen Missy. Get ready for the more hyped and up-to-date style of the best female rapper there is.

Adele

It is known that whenever Adele decides to release a new song, she will definitely touch every person’s soft spot. After a break of three years, her third album broke first week sales records in UK and her single ‘Hello’ rose fast to the top of the charts, together with the many memes about it. The British artist really knows how to amuse her public!

Ciara

After stepping out of the music industry because she was about to become a mother and going through a tough break up, Ciara released her first single at the beginning of the year after almost two years. She looks better than ever and you cannot even notice that she went through a difficult patch. The happy mother shines brighter and brighter.

The Prodigy 

A six years break can really end up with a good comeback. At least that’s how it happened for the British electro band, The Prodigy. Together with the release of a new album The Day Is My Enemy, the band participated in a couple of summer festivals and started a tour throughout Europe in November 2015. Keep up the vibe!

Fall out Boy

The pop-rock band is back and they are stronger than ever. The reactions of the fans were even better, while most of them were happily shocked. The guys declared that the time apart made them realise how important the band was for each one of them and even though it’s always hard to survive out there – especially as a rock band – they definitely made the decision of their life.

Dr. Dre 

One of the key figures in the rap industry decided to come back with his previously cancelled album, now in a new version. The album was to be called Detox, but now called Compton, brought a couple of positive but also negative remarks, since the fans expected more from the rap legend. Dr. Dre still managed to get nominated at the 2016 Grammys for the Best Rap Album. Good luck, Dr. Dre, we will keep an eye on your progress!

Gwen Stefani

After she promised a new album, the judge of ‘The Voice‘ first started off by releasing a couple of tracks from the up coming album. It is definitely a change, comparing it to the 2005 hit ‘Hollaback girl‘, but the beauty and talent are still there, even if the young wild days have been left behind.

Kid Cudi 

On the rollercoaster throughout his career, Kid Cudi went through a lot of ups and downs. From the downfall he’s been through after cancelling his tour, he released a new album called Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven, that really ensured his comeback. His music reversed to a deep, raw and personal approach. We could say that he is out from the ‘lonely stoner’ era, but the fans are wondering where is the old energetic Kid Cudi that they used to know.

Craig David

Boom, surprise! The legend, the myth, the hero of the UK Garage scene is back. First we heard him with Big Narsty on BBC 1Xtra radio and then he dropped a new track with the same artist called ‘When The Bassline Drops’. An awesome banger of a track we played on repeat for many days. Rumour goes he is recording an album with another favourite of us: Drake. Time will tell…

Justin Bieber

Last, but not least, let’s not forget about all the Beliebers out there. Bieber’s comeback made even his haters like him and gained a lot of sympathy from a lot of other celebrities. After a complete makeover and a slightly change of music style, the artist got the public’s hearts with his latest record, being the second one in the first week most record sales, after Adele of course.
