We’re off! Paaspop festival in the Netherlands is the official yearly kick-off of the festival season. And how they do it; with seven stages, a biker café, house palace, restolounge, food, party areas and much much more, Paaspop is not your average music festival. There’s stand-up comedy, get your hair done, party in the smallest venue ever, kick back on bean bags, what the hell why don’t you just enjoy theatre while you’re at it? So.much.to.do.

Rockstone will be running around doing challenges and interviewing festival goers as well as artists. But, we also like to enjoy the music a little. So for all of you going, check out the list of acts we recommend. Sorted in our own musical categories, so just pick whatever suits you best. And if you’re not going, just give these a listen, you might encounter them somewhere this season!

INDIE FLAVOURED

There’s so much Indie flavoured music on Paaspop, it’s almost impossible to tell something about every one of them. And when it comes to music, isn’t listening better than reading about it? Right. Enjoy!

John Coffey – Friday, Phoenix, 20:00

Rockstone Sessions filmed these guys last year at Paaspop and they’ve been killing it ever since. Especially since the ‘beer-catching-gate‘ at Lowlands.

HOUSE FOR BEGINNERS

I call it House For Beginners, because it’s easy, breezy and extremely danceable. To be honest, there’s not a lot you can’t like about it. Even though you sometimes like to keep your street cred intact, by saying you hate it. Don’t be foolish, this is roadtrip music and everybody loves roadtrips!
