Born in Ghent, Belgium, to a family of artists and musicians, it is no wonder that this lady was going to become a star! Her father was legendary blues singer-songwriter Chris Whitley.

Having moved to America at a young age, she spent a lot of time at studios with her father. Then, at the age of 11, Trixie started playing the drums after moving back to Belgium, and shortly after began touring Europe with several music theatre companies.

At 17, Trixie decided to move back to New York City, taught herself to play the piano and focused on her songwriting.

In 2009 Trixie released her first EP entitled ‘The Engine’ and in 2011 recorded an EP ‘Live at Rockwood Music Hall’.
There are big things in store for this talented lady and we got the chance to hear her perform two of her songs: ‘Gradual Return’ and ‘Oh The Joy‘. Enjoy!
