It’s already three years ago that Django Django, originally from Scotland but based in London, released its fantastic debut album. Ever since, reviewers had difficulties in defining the band’s genre. In a way it can be classified as Indie Rock, but that would definitely deprive Django Django’s variety in styles. Terms that have been used to pigeonhole it are for example Experimental Rock, Neo-Psychedelia and Electronica. One thing that everybody agreed on though is that it is brilliant. Besides that distinctive sound, the band has built quite a reputation with their music videos as well.
Last week Django Django released their promising second studio album called Born Under Saturn. Again band members Vincent Neff (vocals/guitar), Jimmy Dixon (bass), Tommy Grace (synthesizer) and David Maclean (drums and producer) created a great mixture of styles that seem to combine unexpectedly well. It’s both accessible and complicated. It makes you feel like partying at some moments, while at others you just want to concentrate and think thoroughly. With their new single ‘Reflections’, the band succeeded to visually present their music in a fitting way again. Video director Natalia Stuyk and animator Eva Papamargariti transformed the band members into strange kinetic sculptures, featuring both futuristic and surrealistic elements. We absolutely love it and assume you will as well. Watch it below and enjoy!
