The Cool Quest are originally from Zwolle and they define their awesome sound as funkin’ hip hop. A genre that isn’t very narrow as can be seen in their recent election of Radio 6 Soul & Jazz Talent. Today’s session is of a song called ‘Screw Up’, which is on their highly appreciated debut album ‘Funkin’ Badass’. From the start of The Cool Quest in 2011, the band built a huge reputation in live performances and therefore we’re super excited they joined us for a session. We gratefully shot it at MOOOF, a place that offers space for many new creative initiatives in The Hague. The piano played is one from the amazing collection of Jan Guurink and Pieter Verhulst from Stichting Pianobouw in Nederland.
