We all know that the big festivals in The Netherlands present you bands to match the grandeur of it all. Upcoming is Pinkpop and it hosts names like the Foo Fighters, Muse, Robbie Williams, Avicii and Pharrel Williams. But for those few visitors who are actually interested in discovering some new music at a huge festival like this, do check out this list before you enter the pink hatted-madness at Landgraaf.

Friday June 12, stage four
There’s a lot of great music coming from the high north these days. Aurora is one of them. Her music is vivacious, heavy at heart and instrumentally strong. Her fame is growing fast now Katy Perry spoke out she loves Aurora’s music, so see this while it’s still hot!

Friday June 12, stage four
We always love a little bit of new-wave indie bands with catchy tunes. Coasts is one of those bands that take you back to those days when you got The Kooks and The Strokes on repeat for months on end. So that, with an extra bit of bombastic happy vibes (in the form of piano tunes) and you have something that comes close to a description of their style. Best thing is to just grab the car, turn this music on loud and head to a sunny place. Did somebody say ‘roadtrip’?

Pierce Brothers

Sunday June 14, stage four
Speaking of roadtrips: the Pierce Brothers provide you with excellent music for travelling. Think the Australian version of Americana and folk. Think Mumford and Sons, but then in a duo. They started out as streetmusicians, but are now performing on festival stages all over the world.

Sunday June 14, stage four
Although they’ve been around since 2012, it’s not since the last year that Peace got more and more known amongst the bigger crowd and amongst music critics that are merely very enthusiastic about the British band. At Pinkpop you have a chance to see and hear for yourself and if you want a preview of what this band is about, please check out the four different music video’s they made for ‘I’m a Girl’. If you check them out all four, you’re sure to be able to sing along Sunday!

Gavin James

Friday June 12, Brand Bier Stage
With his performance at Eurosonic Noorderslag in 2015, he turned out to be one of the big surprises that year. He signed a deal at Capitol Records and performed with big names such as James Blunt and Kodaline. With his song ‘The Book of Love’ he captures a romantic vibe that already made loads of female hearts melt. Above all, he just makes the perfect music to escape the festival mayhem. At least for a while.
