How the UK leaving the EU will affect the music industry
If a ‘Brexit’ happens, this could affect the music industry and music fans. Especially artists that did not (yet) earn their claim to fame are going to have to pay more when it comes to travelling abroad. Also, the paperwork that comes with playing at European festivals will be more of a hassle – besides it costing money – that may prevent bands from being able to play abroad. According to Hypebot: Bands will only be able to tour if a promoter makes them an offer to perform, and with the additional paperwork, European promoters may be less inclined to bother with smaller acts.” A Brexit also has an impact on the travel industry, meaning fans may have to pay more to follow their favourite acts abroad. And these are just a few excerpts of how a Brexit affects the music industry. For more detailed info, go to Ticketbis.
The Apple Music re-design we’ve all been waiting for
June 14 Apple showed off a brand new version of Apple Music, emphasising on simplicity and interaction with your music. Getting rid of all the confusing ‘clutter’ you found before and letting you (re-)discover your favourite tunes and making it easier to use.
In an effort to make things less confusing, the first screen that shows when you open Apple Music is your library. This library tab will be broken up into two sections – music locally stored on your phone, and streaming tracks. Currently, Apple Music opens to the “For You” tab, which makes it hard to find the music you actually want to listen to. The “For You” tab will remain, but is now broken up into Discover, Recently Played, and a new daily curated playlist. One fun feature – the app will now automatically fetch lyrics for each song you are listening to so you can sing along. (Source: Techcrunch.com)
