Yearly the Sniester festival strikes down at the Grote Markt, The Hague. And every year this festival proves to showcase some undiscovered bands that deserve a proper introduction. Rockstone Sessions thinks nothing says more about a band than an acoustic session with yours truly (obviously). That’s why we filmed three totally different bands you can add to your playlist! Meet The Uppertones, TenTempiés, and Drive Like Maria!
The Uppertones
Are you ready for and eclectic blend of vocals, piano, drums and trombones? Because The Uppertones will put you in a swinging mood with their mix of everything Jamaican. Think Jamaican R’n’B, boogie, calypso and mento. And with a splash of Ska, this trio will get you swinging in no time. You probably didn’t know you had it in you! So travel not only back in time when these musical styles originated, but travel also to the sunny island of Jamaica. Unfortunately, not for real. But The Uppertones take you as close as you can get!

TenTempiés
Nothing feels more like summer than the upbeat tunes and Spanish lyrics of TenTempiés! This (Dutch) musical collective gets the party going and raises temperatures where ever they perform. If you listen to the acoustic versions of ‘Quiero Saltar’ and ‘Los Besos del Ritmo’ you’ll immediately know what we mean!

Drive Like Maria
After the exotic tunes of TenTempiés and The Uppertones, we have not forgotten about rock ‘n roll. Drive Like Maria combines rock ‘n roll, blues and a pinch of soul in a mix that is super catchy, while still being rough on the edges – even when played acoustic!
