We from Rockstone Sessions met Anouk Visée while looking for a peaceful spot in the dunes of Ameland. Together we walked a bit and she told us about her upbringing on another Dutch Island, Texel, and her music. As she states it herself she ‘writes songs in order to stay sane’ and if you listen closely you can hear she assimilates some real life happenings and memories in her music. With that it feels like you’re close and you get that feeling you can relate. Anouk’s songs are sweet and personal, which makes the setting for this session even better. In the background there’s the serenity of people playing, sunbathing and hanging around at the beach, while a little bit further on there’s surfing, wakeboarding, partying, skating and all that belonging to Madnes Festival. Escaping that, while we climbed up in the dunes looking for some peace and quiet with this talented singer songwriter, is exactly the tranquility Anouk’s music can bring you. This track is about friends settling down, having a family and actually start taking life as an adult seriously. Something we all, sooner or later, will have to give in to. Besides that, it’s a lovely, small song to start your day with. Take it easy today and enjoy ‘The Young Ones’ by Anouk Visée.
