In need of some new music? Then you’re in luck! Rockstone Sessions collected some albums we’re very much looking forward to this upcoming month. And already this Friday turns out just fine, with three highly anticipated releases!

Majid Jordan – Majid Jordan // February 5Majid-Jordan-Majid-Jordan-2016-2480x2480

Today, February 5, is a good day. I don’t know about you guys, but the long anticipated album of Majid Jordan is out! The duo’s been teasing us with tracks for a long time already and just recently been releasing tracks before their long awaited debut album (called Majid Jordan) is now finally out on Spotify. The two make refreshing r&b inspired music with a touch of an electronic sound that reminds you of the 90’s. And we all know that was an epic musical period. Both danceable and relaxing, we’re fans!

Future – EVOL // February 5

Future - EVOL album cover

To continue my plea on why today is such a good day, I like to point out Future is releasing his album called EVOL, which will be premiered on DJ Khaled’s new radio show Beats 1 Radio with DJ Khaled (this guy). The latest album follows last month’s Purple Rain and to give you a little sneak peek on what to expect from this hyper productive Hip Hop artist, you can listen to ‘Fly Shit Only’ below.

Breakbot – Still Waters // February 5

Breakbot - Still Waters album cover

Next up: Breakbot. Remember these guys from the super catchy, disco-like tune ‘Baby, I’m Yours‘? I played it on repeat for quite a while and I still listen to it whenever I need an energy boost. So obviously I was happy to find out that they are releasing the album Still Waters the 5th of February. When listening to the latest track ‘Get Lost‘, you’ll notice it’s not a disco-themed banger like ‘Baby, I’m Yours’, but you can still hear that seventies sound in it. Even though it’s somewhat of a ‘slower’ song, it still has that feel good vibe! Also, gotta love that funky album cover!

Kanye West – [t.b.a.] // February 11kanye-west1

Is the album called Waves? Or did the Twitter rant between Wiz Khalifa (who released his album Khalifa on Friday February 5th) and Kanye West made him decide otherwise? And moreover; is it or isn’t it the best album ever made? Yeezy is making us have so many questions at the moment – or always – that there’s nothing else than to just listen and decide for yourself. So make sure you’re listening to the new album of Kanye on the 11th of February and do share your thoughts.

Jack Garratt – Phase // February 19Jack-Garratt-Phase-2016-1200x1200

Jack Garratt is featured in every list with talents of 2016, but he conquered our hearts ever since ‘The Love You’re Given‘ was out. Up until now he hasn’t let us down, releasing breathtaking track after breathtaking track. He smoothly combines singer-songwriter with suave electronic beats to make his tracks just a bit different from the many artists that try to do the same, but just can’t really seem to manage. It’s something about the lyrics also. They’re recognizable, which make them extra fun to sing along with (if you can reach the high pitched tunes). On February 19 he is releasing his debut album Phase and I can’t wait!

Låpsley – Long Way Home // March 4Lapsley

Last, but certainly not least, is the young and talented young lady Låpsley. She’s releasing her debut album Long Way Home on March 4. This list has been lacking women, so I’m happy to close it off with this singer that just has a mesmerizing voice, while only being 20 years of age. Her music is distinctive and vivacious, which makes it perfect for your somewhat semi-down Sundays. To enjoy that is, not to dwell. Listen to the album sampler below and know what you’re up for.
