As I was scanning the internet for reactions of British musicians to the whole, very sad, Brexit situation, I stumbled upon this tweet of Stormzy:

Shortly after I had a good laugh about this, I found out Grime fans are actually all over Stormzy’s claim to become the new Prime Minister of the UK! They’ve been retweeting the message like crazy, up to 15,000 times in 15 minutes of the existence of the hashtag #StormzyForPrimeMinister and still counting! Stormzy has been outspoken about his political views before, calling it embarrassing that the Brit Award didn’t represent Grime and underground artists. He aired his views on the recent London mayoral election too. Even though he called Conservative candidate Zac Goldsmith a “proper p***yhole”. Stormzy is more of a Jeremy Corbyn supporter, saying to the Guardian: “My man Jeremy! Young Jeremy, my guy. I dig what he says. I feel he gets what the ethnic minorities are going through and the homeless and the working class.”

Current PM David Cameron announced that he will be stepping down in October to make way for ‘fresh leadership’ after the UK voted for a Brexit on Thursday. Boris Johnson and Theresa May are the favourites to succeed Cameron but now another contender stepped up. Stormzy innit?!

Overall, the obvious reactions are those of shock, awe and anxiety. Musicians are not buying the Brexit.

😔 So disappointed… Such strange and anxious times. #buildbridgesnotwalls #nomanisanisland
