A group of talented young musicians lead by singer Joel Gaerthe have already toured the entire country and played at numerous venues since they began in 2011. Back then they went under the name ‘Ashtraynutz’ but have since re-branded into The Howlin’ and what a perfect name for a band with Joel’s howling raspy voice.

Soulful and alternative with influences from hip hop and rock make The Howlin’ a band with many sides and you can hear that in their latest EP ‘This Road’. We caught up with Joel and his band to film two Rockstone Sessions from their EP at the home of a famous Dutch artist and it was the oddest most perfect setting for their vibe.
