Josh Ritter started writing music at the age of 18. His style is a mix of folk and ballads. He’s influenced by Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Leonard Cohen and is known as one of the finest singer-songwriters out there.

In 1999 he released his first album, which was just called: Josh Ritter. He recorded the album at his school campus where he was studying neurosciences. When he graduated, Glen Hansard -from the Irish band “The Frames”- discovered Josh when he moved to Massachusetts. Josh went to Ireland with Glen Hansard and released another album in 2000 and sold it at his shows.

Josh Ritter is making music for almost two decades now and isn’t planning to quit anytime soon! Enjoy this session with Josh at Paradiso in Amsterdam.
