“I was still waving after you left”

Something that might’ve happened in real life, since Fridolijn writes songs about her experiences in life. Which makes her music drenched in emotions people encounter in life. It makes her music recognisable and vivacious.

Back in 2011 Fridolijn debuted with te release of Crossing the Rubicon, by her band Finn Silver. The sound mainly being jazz, but infused with pop and hip hop influences. But she practised her musical talents in more than just her band Finn Silver. Together with other female artists she got involved in the singer songwriter group ‘Ladies of the Lowlands’. Also, she toured with British jazzband Kairos 4tet.

From 2013 on she focussed on writing music again. Being in inspirational surroundings – the British hillside – she, Richard Spaven, Grant Windsor, Danny Fisher, David Austin and Alex Bonfanti, recorded her new album in the summer of 2014 in the Aviary studio in London. The jazz sound is still existent, but this time blended into an eclectic mix of jazz, electronic, folk, singer songwriter and broken beats. Curious what this sounds like? Check out the acoustic session Rockstone did with this talented young lady and listen to ‘Still Waving’.
